About Me.

My name is Richard Downes and I first trained as an apprentice furniture maker in Swansea. I then studied Carving & Design at the City of Guilds of London Art School.

I also worked for a professional carver in the English Cotswolds, and then joined an Antiques Restorer, specialising in 18th century furniture. With this background and experience behind me, I decided to start my own business in 1997, specialising in Welsh Lovespoons.

Hand carved Welsh lovespoons with traditional designs such as daffodils, dragons, harps and celtic knots & patterns, all in a variety of woods such as walnut and olive.

Lovespoons make the perfect gift and can be individually engraved with Names, Dates and Greetings for Special Occasions such as Weddings, Christenings and Anniversaries.
